Martina Gannon is my name and I am the Literacy Co-ordinator with the Write-Minded team. I was appointed to this position in January 2009. Having been a teacher for very many years I am delighted to have the opportunity to work closely with teachers, students, schools, families and community groups to ensure that young people in Ballymun achieve the highest level of literacy development. The Aisling Project
The Aisling Project is an after-school initiative working in Ballymun, and was set up in 1997. Currently four Aislings, in four areas of Ballymun, work with nearly 90 young people aged from 8-to-13 years. A fifth Aisling Project – the much anticipated Aisling transition/seniors project - was established last year which works with young people during the often difficult transition from primary to second level education, and throughout first-year. Drop in Well - Learning Together as a Family
Valerie O`Carroll the coordinator of the Drop-In Well Family Resource Centre gives us a flavour of a family learning project she organised with the Write-Minded team during the Hallow’een school holidays. The Drop-In Well is a resource for all families in Ballymun. Read more
