Overview
youngballymun is embarking on a very exciting journey, one that seeks to enhance the learning and well-being outcomes for children and young people in Ballymun
This is a community-based strategy that is taking place in parallel with the regeneration of Ballymun’s built environment.
The development of youngballymun represents a considerable milestone in the social regeneration of Ballymun.
youngballymun is one of the key building block of that emerging social infrastructure. It is a ten year systemic change strategy that aims to enhance learning and well-being outcomes for children and young people in Ballymun. It also has the aim of contributing to policy and practise development across Ireland and abroad. youngballymun (2007-2016) is being rolled out in two five year phases, and is now in the early stages of the first five-year phase. youngballymun consists of four integrated spheres of activity:
Learning Community | This is the 'container' within which the programme and the services take place and thrive
|
Programme | This is the set of integrated and guiding principles on which the strategy is founded
|
Services | These are ther 'community-facing' services by which the strategy will be known in the community
|
Evaluation | rigourous independent evaluation of youngballymun's work assessing actual contribution to enhanced learning and wellbeing outcomes for children and young people
