youngballymun has embarked on a very exciting journey, a journey measurably to enhance learning and well-being outcomes for children and young people in Ballymun.
This is a community-based strategy that is taking place in parallel with the regeneration of Ballymun’s built environment.
The work of youngballymun is a key milestone in the social regeneration of Ballymun – regeneration focused on the lives, experiences and opportunities of children and families in Ballymun.
youngballymun is one of the key building blocks of an emerging social service infrastructure which is dedicated to supporting the growth and development of children and young people into adulthood. It is a ten year systemic change strategy to enhance learning and well-being outcomes for children and young people in Ballymun. It contributes to policy and practice development in children’s services across Ireland and further afield. youngballymun (2007-2016) is being rolled out in two five year phases, and is now in the second year of the first five-year programme of work. youngballymun consists of four integrated spheres of activity:.
Learning Community | This is the 'container' within which the programme and the services take place and thrive

Services | These are the 'community-facing' services through which the strategy is known in the community

Evaluation | This is the rigourous independent evaluation of youngballymun's work which will make actual contributions to enhanced learning and wellbeing outcomes for children and young people and element of practice which are crucial to securing those outcomes
