The youngballymun strategy clearly emphasises that a programme of work with defining and integrative features will be at our heart.

The Programme dimension of the youngballymun initiative both drives the services and the "weave" across and between them. It is the key vehicle for achieving enhanced outcomes for children and young people in Ballymun. It does this by building a culture of communication, commitment and mutual accountability within the services and across all the stakeholders.  The Programme has defining integrative features which are fundamental to the youngballymun strategy and are core wthin all services. These include the following:

  

1.Life Cycle Response

A view of the child from pre-birth to early adulthood in a supportive environment with family and friends and positive connections.

youngballymun sees the child within his/her family, school, community and broader society. The whole community has the task of supporting parents in creating a favorable environment for children to thrive and develop to their full potential.

2. Integration

Intelligent cross-community service planning and delivery

Integration is based on respect for all perspectives, knowledge and experience of issues to be addressed. Integration is sustained by ongoing shared ownership and commitment to a common purpose-improved learning and wellbeing outcomes for children and young people in Ballymun.

3.  Innovation

A creative process, rooted in science, focused on outcomes.

Innovation is evident in the creation of six ambitious new services shaped by the best local, national and international expertise, drawing on promising and proven models of work with a clear focus on improved learning and wellbeing outcomes for children and young people in Ballymun.

4.  Evaluation

Accountability and results

To ensure that youngballymun delivers for children and young people in Ballymun and is fully accountable to all our partners we are committed to rigorous assessment of practice, accurate measurement of progress, independent analysis of results and on-going communication and promotion of learning.

5.  Capacity Building

Investment in sharing knowledge and best practice

youngballymun celebrates the expertise and commitment of services in Ballymun, invests with our partners in strengthening skills and knowledge, and in expanding outcomes-focused practice.

6.  Sustainability

Ensuring that key service are locally embedded and secure

youngballymun will ensure that its programmes are locally embedded and that skills, expertise and structures are strengthened to guarantee continuity.  Local expertise and partners will be woven into the delivery fabric.  youngballymun will also advocate and promote the success of the programme to persuade policy makers and funders how valuable and cost effective these vital services are.
